New to Portland..

(first thread put in the wrong region, not quite north enough)

Hi guys,

I'm planning to move up to Portland downtown near the Uni, any good apt complex i should be looking at? my main concern is my BRZ, I want to know if it's a good idea to bring it up with me or I should just use my beater corolla for it?

How does the rainy/icy/salt/misc do to the cars here, should i be looking into undercarriage covers for my car?

I'm looking for a 1 bedroom apt or a studio, tile/hardwood floor preferred.

What kind of rent are out there?

I would love to make some new 86er friends there.

Thanks!

Sweet! Another owner pops up lol.
Portland is expensive if you plan on living downtown, studio apartments can run between 8 and 1200 on the lower end. Cheaper ones are available but it's a college town obviously so they go fast. As far as cars go; unless you've got a garage queen, bring it! Yeah the weather can be a little rough, but nothing regular maintenance won't keep from preventating any permanent damage (i.e rinsing off street chemicals after driving in ice). We don't get seriously icy enough for it to be a real hassle all the time.

We do have a nice group of twin owners up here! Every first Thursday of the month we do go karting at sykart as a group. December 3rd is our next kart run if you want to join up and meet some peeps if you get here by that time!
