Steering wheel emblem
Quick question boys and girls.
The Subaru emblem on my steering wheel (air-bag) is dented. It's been like this since I got the car (AKA I didn't do it). Is it possible to remove and replace this emblem without having to replace the whole air-bag? I hate looking at it and want to see if I can replace it, but I'm not sure if you can replace the emblem separately or have to do the whole air-bag. If it's the latter, then screw it; I'll live with it. If it's possible to replace, does anyone know where I can get one? Obviously a Subaru dealership, but I don't really want to pay dealership pricing for something like that, because it's usually extravagant. So I'm hoping I can get it somewhere else. FT86SpeedFactory only has Toyota ones available, and they look more like an overlay for the OEM badge rather than a replacement.

The emblem is not a part, they would only sell the whole airbag cover piece which is super expensive.
Mine is dented as well since new. |

Cant you take it into the dealership or is it too late? My push to start came damaged (noticeable scratches all over it) and i argued its a new car so they replaced it. No reason why there should be damage to a new car in my opinion

Well mine is super minor you have to really look at it to notice. I miss Honda steering wheel emblems from the 80's now that's quality!

Yeah I mean you can only see the dent from certain angles, but I know it's there and it drives me bonkers.
I would take it into the dealership, but by now my car is over 3 years old on paper, bumper to bumper has expired, and I have 50k on it. I doubt they'd do anything for me. Anyone have any other ideas? I see overlays and badges for sale all the time but they only ever seem to be Toyota or Scion; never Subaru.

Bump.
The dent is now worse after having to slam on my horn the other day when I almost t-boned some jack-ass. The emblem looks like it can come off separately, but I don't know if I can source a replacement without having to buy the whole air-bag, which I'm not willing to do because of cost. Alternatively, on the very off chance that anyone might somehow have a spare laying around, I'd be interested. Thanks.

A quick search of these forums would reveal that you can't remove the badge.
It's either a new airbag or you source a cheap Chinese made emblem cover that would look tacky but at least cover the dent Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I obviously searched the forums high and low before posting this.
You can definitely remove it. You can tell (just by the nature of the dent in mine) that you would be able to probably get a blade or thin flat-head behind it and pry it off (one of the edges is lifted a bit). I was going to try, but didn't want to take it off until I knew I had something to replace it with. It's probably glued on, but is definitely a separate piece from the air-bag (it's different material), so therefore it can be removed.
