Weird stuff in engine

Anyone know what this might be? and how to get rid of it? Its got this gel/wax type feel to it and seems to come off in i use my nails....but that would take days of me sitting there scratching it off. Any help would be good. Everything on the car is working including AC.

Funky OZ stuff.

Maybe wet it down, spray with some engine degreaser or similar product (I use Chemical Guys All Clean under my hood), give it a scrub and see where that gets you.

hmmm.........looks like oxidized aluminum with a coating of dust.

I'd just leave it alone.

However, if it bugs you, I'd suggest you get a couple of brushes, some aluminum cleaner and a 6 pack or beer, put on some music and have a cleaning party ....

Downy dish soap. Works wonders in engine! Also, light on the hands.

Cover important electronic parts first. Also you can lightly use that orange goo thing you use to remove oil from hands that feels like sand. Forgot name!

It's just anti corrosion stuff subaru put for transport. Had same sort of goo under the hood only on mettallic parts and everything was working flawlessly.

The dealer said that was just parafine, so i had them clean it..

If everything working fine on your car, i think there is nothing to worry about. Just clean it and call it a day
