e85 w/o flex fuel kit?

I am planning on purchasing a OFT and OFH to go with my muffler delete as well as to gain some power and fill in the dreaded torque dip in our power band. I have a few questions for you guys that have probably been answered in other threads but I want yalls opinions if you have been running these tunes/setup.

1) Drawback to not using the flex fuel kit. Is it safe and can this harm the car in any way?

2) What tune should I use to get the most out of e85 and a header? And what are the expected gainz?

3) How long will it be before I loose my hearing b/c of headers and muffler delete.

Not really, keep it e60 and higher. No harm to car as long as you run the proper tune with correct gas.

2) What tune should I use to get the most out of e85 and a header? And what are the expected gainz?

The OFT has off the shelf tunes you can use, expect lots of horsepowers.

3) How long will it be before I loose my hearing b/c of headers and muffler delete.

WHAT? SPEAK UP I CANT HEAR YOU. Jk, I guess you'll find out.

All of this can be found by searching btw, so expect some flak.

1) Yes, it's safe.
2) OFT has an E85 UEL tune, which is what you would use with the OFH
3) Depends on your ears.

As far as flex fuel it allows you to not have to run your tank empty all the time to switch which is nice.

I'm going to try and get you started. I know that many people will post a bunch of threads and tell you to search, however there is A LOT to sift through, and sometimes I feel that it's not exactly spelled out. Some of us need the Cliff Notes rather than the entire novel. If I am wrong about ANYTHING, I encourage anyone to correct my errors.

1) Drawback to not using the flex fuel kit. Is it safe and can this harm the car in any way? From what I have read/researched, you can safely run the OFT base tunes with e85 and there is an accounted margin for error (fuel from station to station). Also seems as though it is a waste to go with a flex fuel kit if you aren't FI. Yes, I know there is the "better safe than sorry" argument, but Shiv and other have done a good job at getting us where we need to be, safely.

2) What tune should I use to get the most out of e85 and a header? And what are the expected gainz? Stage 2 Header Tune. Isn't it something like 20-30 HP?

3) How long will it be before I loose my hearing b/c of headers and muffler delete. It all depends on how much your ears can take, it's all relative.

I hope this serves as a brief start.

I am running a Tomei UEL with Berk muffler delete (e85 tune) and I love it. I added a Berk Catless front pipe which was replaced within a week. I put back the oem front pipe because it was too loud for my taste.

Are you experiencing major resonance between 2-3k rpm? I have the berk as well and that rmp band seems to be when there is the most (boomb). Do the uel headers amplify that or somehow eliminate it?

Not major but there is definitely some resonance at that rpm range. It is not over bearing because the rumble is pure eargasm lol.

Haha okay, before this i was scared that this might be too loud but you have convinced me otherwise. Do you have a sound clip of your setup (possibly in cabin/behind the car)????

I could even give you my email or some thing to make it easier for you upload a video as opposed to dropbox or youtube... I am just curious what an eargasm sounds like.

The main benefit of a proper flex kit is not having to wait for fuel trims to learn your E%. With a tune, transitioning from E85 to 93 is a bit interesting.
