Lancer Evolution Final Edition

Quote:
In its 10th and final generation, the Lancer Evolution is a car that is beloved by many and arguably the originator of the four-door sports car genre. To send it off in style, Mitsubishi will offer a limited-production, Final Edition model; only 1,600 numbered Final Edition models will be produced.

Already known for its pulse-pounding performance, the Lancer Evolution Final Edition increases horsepower to 303 and torque to 305 lb-ft. Performance is further added by use of lightweight two-piece Brembo® brake rotors up front, accompanied by Bilstein® shock absorbers and Eibach® springs at all four corners. As with all 2015 Lancer Evolutions, the Final Edition features Mitsubishi's Super All Wheel control.
I can almost hear that Wiz Khalifa song playing in the bacground

Actually not true, they decided to send 1,600 to the US, with an MSRP of $37,995!

Not Japan only. And has a Manual.

If it wasn't for the RS I'd be very interested. Speaking of the RS I need to find a dealer today that doesn't want to add an ADM.

Thanks! Didn't find that one. Everything I found said Japan only. Still doesn't help me though as I can't find anything for Canada. Oh, and here the price would be closer to $50K anyway.

Don't care how much "better" it is I am not ever going to consider a 20 year old car as a DD. When I buy my next weekend toy it will be way over 20 years old and will not be an import (sometimes my classic muscle roots still pop up).

I'm guessing you mean IX since IV wasn't sold in the US?

A buddy of mine had a 9 MR and I was surprised how much I liked it over the latest X. Fun car.

The 4 is my favorite LanEvo, but the 8 and 9 were nice as well.

I've driven an 8 but not a 9 before. I would assume driving characteristics to be similar though.

Ah - I've never had the chance to drive a 4, but the 9 MR was quite good when I drove it. What about the 4 makes it your favorite? Of the non-US Evos, I always thought the 6 was the one everyone liked, no?

I was not impressed by the 9s really. Can't honestly say why there was just something about hem that turned me off.
Mind you anything before an X is pretty rare in Canada since they did not start importing them here until 08. The older ones were all either brought up from the US or RHD ones from Japan.

Have you ever ridden in/driven an Evolution IV? I have, and... if you're 6' and over you would not want to own one as a DD.
  • It's small (Read: Cramped)
  • the metal is a little on the thin side
  • you'd also have to worry about the government possibly seizing the car

Honestly just adolescent fanboyism that has stuck with me. Growing up I was exposed to a lot of WRC from older relatives. I have the same bias towards any Group A era car now that you ask.

That's pretty awesome to say that you've driven one! I learned a long time ago the difference between cars I want to drive, and cars I want to own. The lists are very different and not a single LanEvo is on the own list.

And allot of IV's have that notorious crank walk, V and the VI are much better options.
