Ran over a Skunk :(

So driving home last night I ran over an already dead skunk. The skunk smell was immediately all over my interior. I drove the rest of the way home with my windows open to air it out but that really didn't do much. I got home and sprayed all my cloth parts (seats, carpets, etc...) with febreeze and that helped mask the smell for the time being. But getting into my car this morning the smell came back, not as strong but it was noticeable. Any one with good tips to help get the smell out?

Take it to a detail shop. May have to get your car shampooed and steamed clean, the interior anyways. We don't have skunks in Hawaii but I know for work we had to take government car to a detail shop after a person took a crap in car. Detail shop professionally cleaned the car by shampooing and steam cleaning entire interior of van.

So far I have scooped 3 skunks, 2 racoons and a possum up with my bumper.
Just leave the windows open for a bit and it will go away in a day or two. There is nothing to clean off the interior (unless you scooped him right into the car with you) so shampooing will do nothing. The oils only hold their odour on the metal parts for a couple of days and then go away.

And you aren't even slammed! Wonder what else you could scoop up if you were .5 to an inch off the ground.

Where I live is skunk heaven and pretty much every surface in the area has been sprayed at one point up to and including my second floor windows and roof.

Tomato juice will help break down the smell. Never really applied it to a car before but have given dogs a bath in it.

EDIT:
I realize the link in the above post says that it doenst work well, but it was what we had and it worked on the dog.
