GTR's a few of them

This car was a brand new 2012 GTR, only a few days old from delivery. The car was filthy and untouched by the dealer, absolutely the way it should be. The owner wanted to protect it right from the gate, and amplify the pearl pop in the paint. I put together a new car prep that would help protect the entire outside, as well as protecting the inside from UV rays and heaven forbid a spill. The car had some bugs that met their untimely death on the front of this supercar, and the normal GTR exhaust soot. Everything else was in great shape, the car just needed a good decontamination from the rail dust and any residual transit glue that was left behind.
The start

Yup, lots of bug guts everywhere

Exhaust soot

Dirty trunk

Brake dust after 4 days

Decontamination stage with Iron X

I call BS on this sticker

It can be doubled as a family vehicle, someone should have a huge smile on their face.

All finished up

Exhaust tips cleaned up

Check out the gloss

This was another new GTR client. Nothing outstanding on it as the paint was near flawless and the owner really appreciates taking the proper care for it. Just a wash and seal.
Stuff used
New Wheel cleaner
Optimum Car soap
Iron x
solvent free dressing
Permanon Platinum
Pics Before (not many, too many cars booked in this day)

Stains in the clear bra that would not come off chemically?

After

This was number 10 for me for GTR’s. This time it was a 2011, and of course in black. This ended up with a 2 stage polish which I have used for most of the other black GTR’s I have seen. The owner also decided on opticoating to help with cleaning and to limit or help reduce some of the dreaded swirling that these cars seem to be affected by so easily.
Stuff Used
Optimum Car Wash
Optimum Tire Shine
New Wheel Cleaner
DA polishers and compounds and polishes
OPticoating
The start

50/50 after compounding

Outside Sun Shots

Fixed up the clearbra as well

Hey ladies and gents. I had another black GTR to work on this week. In the worst shape of any of the others I have done. On top of that, apparently the car had sections repainted by Satan himself as the clear used was the stickiest, expansive under heat and just plain didn’t want to correct as I have ever seen. I made STI paint look like a dream. I didn’t get a tone of photos but the owner was hoping to take a few snap shots in the sun later on. We also opticoated it. I worked 13 hours on it in one day and Hamza helped for about 4 for a total of 17 hours. Not fun. I think we got about 90% correction using a 2 step process.
The start

That’s actually the sun peeking through the skylight

50/50

Just some garage shot as it was after 10pm when I finished

Thanks to Hamza for somewhat getting me caught up.

This was a returning client, I had taken care of one of his cars last year. We had lined up 3 cars over 2 days for a decontamination of the paint and glass. The VW was in the worst shape of all three and required more work getting the paint into shape than the other two. For the most part these are finished pics, I am always tight for time right now.
Stuff used
Optimum Car Wash
Optimum Power Clean
Optimum Car Wax
Optimum Tire Shine
Iron X
Exclusive Clay

VW GTI

GTR

Dirtyish wheels, as all GTR’s do

Exhaust soot from the back end

Finished

Asked these to be left alone

CLS AMG

This is my third GTR I have had the pleasure of working with. This one needed some TLC to bring back the shine as it had fallen victim to a bad case of the swirlies. For such hard paint (as stated by the little sticker under the hood) it mars and swirls so easily. Paint reading were good, 120 microns on average.
We will start with some before pictures

Inside shots with light displaying the paint defects

After some polishing

Door done

Fender and hood shot after

Next was a prewax cleaner, Eshine’s prototype that is not out yet, and a nice layer of RaceGlaze Black Label Concours Wax

Outside Shots

Thanks for looking.

This was my first GTR, and it came in red. These cars have been on my hit list for a while and I finally got the opportunity to take one on. The car was in decent shape, (except the wheels) just a lot of marring in the paint from the notorious soft GTR paint.

The Process

Wash
Washed with 2BM with AM Wax and Wax and uber sponge
Wheels got AG CWC (x5) and still didn’t some out perfects, the dust had eaten into the coating, thanks to the brembos
Dried with ww towel
Tires got 3D tire gel

The Engine
The engine was cleaned with AM 777 and left factory clean, no dressing

The Interior
AM 777 and Carpet and Upholstery cleaner
Rigid propak
Aztec Hot Rod
And lots of brushes
Jambs got AM Magic Mist

The Correction
Corrected everything but the bumpers with a PC XP and Menz 203 on a green GI pad
The bumper were done with a green 3 inch gi and Menz 203
Cleaned the surface with aquasol
Lots of cookie monsters

The PC worked a lot slower than using a rotary but I had heard the paint sucked on these so I opted for my new PC

The glass saw Sprayway

The LSP for the day was Worlds Best Wax Collector Series

On to the Photos

The Start (after the wash)

The in process

The finish

Total Time
9.5 hours and about 6lbs of sweat

Absolutely. Or just use up what you have. I have a few more GTR write ups kicking around somewhere.

Love the look of GTRs. Especially Opal for the Spec V. Mmm.

It's great to see really well-taken of polished car. It makes and breaks the cars at car shows. Even a good looker far away with marred swirls feels so much less perfect.

Saw some exotics the other day, paint was awful in 90% of them. Ugh
