Series.Blue(er)

This was a fun project for me a while ago but never got around to posting. I absolutely love the series blue interior and decided it could use a bit more of that signature color. I got a great local shop to paint-match my headrest and did the painting myself.

Decided not to go overboard and paint every piece of trim I could pull off, a majority of it I actually painted black. I did mold the two dash pieces together and paint that along with the gauge surround because they flow together so nicely.

Looks good. How did you go about molding those two dash pieces together? Was looking at doing that myself.

It bugs me a lot that the colours don't match. Good job though

way to much blue, not an accent color anymore, now its competing to hard with black as trying to be the primary color, and the shift knob is just strange since its so off color.

just my $0.02

I used Quicksteel plastic repair because it was sandable. I scratched up the places near where they would attach. Held the two pieces together with superglue while I applied the repair putty to the front and back and let it set. You don't have to be as careful if you plan to put vinyl or material like Alcantara over it because it will hide any seam but because I was just painting I too my time to make the seam dissappear completely. PM me if there is any help I could give.

I too am torn about the shift knob color. It actually matches the stitching on the seats well but there is so little of that lighter blue stitch that it stands out in a not so great way. It was not as glaring when I still had the 2015 dash pieces. I love the feel and shifting from the anarchy motive so I might have to pick up one in black.
