car delivery question

I'm definitely wanting to get an fr-s, but obviously, they're a little difficult to find at the moment. I don't have a deposit anywhere or anything. I was wondering if there is a specific time of the week or month where they are delivered to dealers (like movies and games coming out on Tuesdays). Or am I just better off putting down a deposit somewhere?

Put a deposit down, but before you do call around and ask how many people are in line if any. Make sure there are no mark ups, and ask about all of the fees. You wont be able to snatch one just by being there when they come in, unless that person decides not to buy. But wouldn't you rather wait for your transmission/ color choice?

there are a lot of unclaimed cars in craigslist and autotrader.

do some research and you will find a car with the waitlist

To answer your question - no, there's no specific day they come to dealers. The biggest determining factors are the shipping schedule and rail schedule, if applicable. .

Just call every dealer within reasonable driving distance every few days. From what I've found, the larger the dealer the more cars they will get.

The dealer i worked with a few times seemed to have allocations every half a month. the 1st and the 15th, thats also when a lot of dealers seemed to update their inventory around this area. Seemed like cars seemed to arrive at dealerships around those days. (i got my 2 previous cars on a 5th) This doesn't factor in when dealers do trades and such.

Anyways thats just what i noticed.

Just call around every few days, i know its a hassle, but when they have one unsold, place a deposit over the phone. Also, if it was on its way to port, or still there they can usually remove accessories you don't want. That's what I did, I'm not getting it from the dealership that had my deposit for almost 3 weeks. Most dealerships wont trade FR-Ss around, especially manuals. Good luck!
