Wheel / Fender alignement question

Hi guys,

I'm a bit lost with all the wheel offset (ET) and the wheel spacers story.

As I understand the wheel can be aligned with the fender edge in two ways:
1. Choosing the right wheel offset
2. Using a spacer

So for the BRZ/GT86/FRS the factory wheel offset is 48mm.
If I want to move the wheel outwards (towards the fender edge) for 13mm I need to get a wheel with an offset of 35mm or i need to use a spacer 13mm thick.
Does this make any sense?

Thanks for your answers!!

Yup! That's what it is! I can't confirm that it'll sit flush with fender but your concept is right on
