Tomzilla's "That feeling when your car is far cooler than you" BRZ thread.

It. has. arrived...? Well, not quite- Like some of you, I cancelled my preorder with one dealership and defected to another... with a twist.

Picture this: A beautiful Saturday morning, I was driving to my girlfriend's house to have her brakes repaired. There just so happens to be a Subaru dealership about 10 minutes from her place on the road I take to get there. Everytime I drive by, I slow down to see if they have one sitting in their showroom or on the lot, and everytime nothing. Except for this fateful morning.

As I was passing said dealership, I glance over and see a black, premimum, MT BRZ. I didn't turn in, I powerslid into the lot in a Honda Ridgeline. Parked it, ran over and gawked. A salesman walks over, greets me, and asks if I was interested. I tell him about my situation and we go inside to talk. To spare the boring details, I walked out of the dealership that day an incredibly happy man.

What are the odds that there was a CBS (one of the more uncommon colors), premium (uncommon trim), MT BRZ sitting on the lot of a dealership that I wasn't even supposed to pass that day?

A few things I'll try to cover during this:

General reaction of the public
Driving
Pros
Cons

First thing's first: Why label the thread, "That feeling when your car is cooler than you?" Simple. I've never gotten such attention in my 23 years of existence than in the past 3 days... besides birth, maybe. Just a heads up to future owners-- not all attention is good attention, as people tend to show you how jealous they can be while driving.

Good segue to general reaction. The day I bought it, I drove directly to a Panera bread because the process took incredibly long and I hadn't eaten much. Pulled into the lot with my girlfriend (who came with me), picked a window seat, and began to grub out. In the span of 10 minutes, a good 4-5 people stopped what they were doing, and just walked around it, peeked into the windows, and took pictures. Getting good looks, bad looks, scowls, grins, etc. I feel like Lindsey Lohan after she got busted with happy powder.

Driving. You hear everything. Literally, everything. Each shift, you can hear the gears change. It was a little disconcerting at first, but I'm assuming it's natural. The clutch is pretty soft, but it's by no means bad. The bite point is pretty high, which after 3 days or so I'm starting to get used to.

-Side note- For those that are not used to such low cars, be sure to get out of the seat slowly so as to not make a fool out of yourself when attempting to leave the car. I learned this the hard way by getting out normally, and nearly fell on my face. I have since become a professional.

I'm skipping pros because they need not be listed, as they have been stated in many other journals and it would be redundant.

Cons. I'm skipping cons too because I can't think of any yet.

I'm currently at work so I can't upload pictures, so later tonight you will bear witness to the splender of Crystal Black Silica... or Obsidian.
