Really need help with this... About Exhausts

About 3 weeks ago, I changed my exhaust to Spec D's

"HERES THE EXHAUST"
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjSo6iiKGsA"]SPECDTUNING INSTALLATION VIDEO: 2013-UP FR-S & BRZ CATBACK EXHAUST - YouTube[/ame]

And since then, my MPG went from 28-30 to 22-24
Why that drastic change? :/

Another effect of this exhaust is the overwhelming, yet subliminal need to push your right foot ever-so-slightly harder into the floor. Well, as far as my own experience has shown.

Could be two things.

1) You like the sound of the new exhaust and have been heavier on the throttle.

2) There have been anecdotal reports that using a twin-canister type exhaust turns the rear diffuser into a parachute, causing drag and lower MPGs.

Been driving below 4k all the time. only go over 4k on the highway for a short period only

I resetted the avg mpg, and started driving the most consistent with the concern of my mpg, and right now its at 23.4 ....

I heard good reviews about this exhaust and it was affordable atm. I just dont know if i should keep riding with it or just change back to stock

You saw an increase in power, right? That increase is usually because you are flowing more air through the engine and, thus, the computer throws in more fuel. Combine that with the absolute fact that you are goosing it a lot more with your new nice-sounding exhaust and there you go. It's the nature of the beast. Put really skinny tires on it and you will reduce your rolling resistance and get some back and the car will also be, um, "interesting" to drive; win-win!

Sexy looking double-barreled melon shooter system you got there!

Oh, why did I click the vid, it sounds so good! No, no mods, Mad. Put your wallet in your back pocket and your hands in the front ones and enjoy your factory warranty!

Quit trying to out think the engineers and just drive the car.
