Has anyone had their turbo, center section in my case, rust. I've searched around but it seems not to be too common, then again this isn't an oem turbo car so not many chances of everyone having the same outcome. My turbine housing is coated so that wont really rust, but I'm getting rust all over my center section and I know that's not good. It looks so ugly im embarrassed to even snap a pic. Im certain this has to do with the vented hood install as I probably have 100% more humidity and possible water drips into the bay.

Pretty common to be honest with you. We typically apply high temp pain on a lot of our turbos before installing them. Doesn't really hurt anything, but you are right, kind of an eye sore.

Its common, mine has it and its only been on the car for 3k miles. High heat + moisture will cause faster oxidation.

wow.. really relieved to read this.. I have about 3k on the turbo and its just started to rust :/ We also just started to have very rainy days and I happen to have recently installed my vented hood so im sure that all contributed to a faster process. It just surprised me since for almost 2k it was spotless, it actually looked slightly oiled(center section) then boom...oh well. Thanks!

As long as it's normal I could live with it, getting a turbo blanket to reduce temps under hood so it'll draw attention away from it n

Yep, normal. Cast iron likes to rust and the heat doesn't help matters. It probably was oiled to keep it from rusting (like brake rotors for example). Most OEMs will throw a heat shield over it so it's not noticeable.
