Has anyone ever used loctite tape for a spoiler?

So I bought a new spoiler for my BRZ. Uninstalled the old, washed and applied this

I used one entire roll (which loctite says holds 100lbs), the problem is the spoiler doesn't sit flush everywhere, so there are a few points where the tape isn't holding. But i'd day 80% of the spoiler is flush with the trunk. So my question, my spoiler was "supposed" to come with 3M tape. It didn't, so I went to walmart and bought this..

I'm scared to death it's gonna fly off on the highway, has anyone used this? I currently have it garaged and just letting it bond..

Any opinions would be great!

Your fear of parts flying off is well founded.
I have lost taped/glued parts before.
Personally , everything on my cars is bolted/screwed/clipped on.
The black plastic clips also come loose and fall out with age.

3M Super Strong Automotive Attachment Tape - 03609
NOT recommended for thing what sticks up in the wind.
A spoiler qualifies.
We us it to hold panels from shaking and rattling in the wind on race cars.

Well after searching google other car forums popped up and some say their spoilers almost came off in two weeks, other guys said they have had zero issue's for 2+ years.. I guess tomorrow i'll give it some strong tugs and see how secure it feels.

I would not trust any tape to hold something on my car, but that's just me.

UPDATE:

I will do this for the brz/frs community. Alot of people myself included have fears of wings flying off. Well, I've collected some data for everyone.

There are other videos. Double sided tape also used to hold on panels on skyscrapers also.

Now with other car forums people have used double sided for spoilers/roof spoilers and had no issues

And, for my own experience. I didn't use alcohol to clean the surface, nor did I use the 3M tape primer. The spoiler is up on the right and left side a little, air can get under it. I may need to do it again, but it's on there. I put a decent amount of force down on it and it didn't budge. I need to take it on the highway and see how the tape holds up to snow, hot days etc..

My spoiler is held on solely by 3M tape, Ive done 100 mph plus a few times and its never budged

there is a 3m double side tape is for special automotive molding and it is super sticky. you should use that one. that is what most of door molding, trunk spoiler, root spoilers used. however, it is always better to secure with screw or it might become a road hazard.

Just make sure to clean the surface several times before applying.

I'm about to take off my limited spoiler and install a new spoiler lip myself. From experience I did use heavy duty 3m tape for my roof spoiler and trunk from my honda that I owned before this and I drove the car for over a year before I trade it in and got my brz. Just making sure let it sit and bake for 24 hrs in the sun. I had mine installed near winter time and I think it rain the day after lol. I was impatient and it did slip off on one side a lil bit but with a lil fix it was good.

UPDATE:

After 3 weeks of rain, commuting on the highway my spoiler felt lose and I took it off. After inspecting it, my spoiler had a layer of black paint which stopped it from holding on tight. The paint and the tape peeled right off.. I installed it with 3M automotive tape + the adhesive promoter and the thing is SUPER secure.. Need to do correct prep + adhesive promoter and you'll be fine. Long drive today (60 miles) through canyons and highway, it's not budging..

P.S. If you buy a spoiler, remove all paint with sand paper.. Give it a nice surface to grip into

The 3M stuff with the red backing is the way to go. They are used to be called VHB or Very High Bond Tape, when my old man worked for 3M back in the day he told me the stuff is made out of neoprene and the adhesive is pressure sensitive activation. You need to press down hard for like a minute to install, then leave it for 24 hours to become permanent. I think there are different grades of this stuff available.

My STI gurney flap comes with the 3M red backing tape already applied to it, but it also comes with 2 plastic pegs to secure both sides onto the spoiler (I drilled the spoiler top to install them).

So I'm sure you need both clips and tape to work together as a system for these type of stuff.
