2015 OTA School May 2nd/3rd - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

Anyone looking to get into time attack, or just track driving in general? This school is a great chance to learn a ton over a weekend.

There are in class sessions, skidpad/autoslalom sessions and of course track sessions. It all takes place at the CTMP DDC, brand new indoor facility, track and skidpad area as of last year!

No experience necessary, just a safe car, helmet and willingness to learn!

There are multiple run groups rotating through the different sessions, based on experience, car, etc.

Cost is $575, and typically includes lunch both days.

We'll be there, my wife is actually working on becoming an instructor for the OTA. Not sure if I'll do any driving, maybe I should sign up and get her to be an instructor for me and I'll act like the worst possible student ever

Do highly recommend these schools, it's a great price for what you get out of it. There's another one on July 4/5 at the big track. We both did the school last year at the big track... great to brush up on things or to get somebody's perspective on what you're doing even if you're already experienced.

Were you there taking pictures/flagging at the instructor school? If so, I was at the table with you guys for part of the day. I was working with Pierre, he'll give you a run for worst student ever if you're role playing

That was me.

I can't remember who it was in the afternoon that was playing the role of the student in one of the VW, but he stopped right on the track. I was debating on "black flagging" him somehow (lol no flags, just jump up and down to wave him in) and give him a good screaming like what a track marshal would do. I knew it was a test.... I should have done the same to give the instructor in training a taste of the wrath of a marshall!
