Navigation already failed (require initializing every time the car starts) and I would like to jump on Carplay 2 with wireless connectivity.

Anyone upgraded yet?

I got an Alpine ilx-007, which is apple carplay. it fits pretty flush with an adapter. Ill post a pic after work.

Quick review: I'll try and only talk about apple carplay and not about the device itself.
It's really fast and operates pretty smooth.
Increases radio and sound quality.
Very easy to use just jab your phone with the cable.
You can only use apple maps which is very annoying. (googling addresses using chrome or safari leads you to google maps. No way around this. This means you have to copy links and paste it onto apple maps).
Rear cam support, for my navi atleast (I like to rear park).
Siri works really well.
Touchscreen on a sports car is rather difficult but totally possible. It just makes you look and feel like you have arthritis.

Make sure you check the supported apps. There isn't too many apps supported, but they have most of the apps you need. You can watch youtube videos on your phone and it'll only play the audio through the screen (has left and right arrows to navigate through your youtube playlist.)

I might switch to android auto cause I miss my android phone. I also want to use waze because I like the cop feature. Waze isn't supported yet for android auto but they announced it will.
