LSx swap stock trans?

LS swapping my car and tossing around a few different options. I have t56 transmission mounts but I also have a few spare stock frs transmissions. Has anybody adapted the stock frs transmission to work with an LSx?

I've blown the synchros on 2 stock transmissions with about 270whp/240wtq out of an FA with pretty low torque. People shatter gears above 400whp/350tq from what I've seen, pretty rapidly. How much do you plan to make on your LSx? I hope you have a LOT of spare transmissions all modified to fit the LSx and free time

My FA was making 300whp before my rebuild and I never had any transmission problems. Although I have had synchro problems, even on stock power, I never had an actual failure. I wouldn't need to be making over 350whp on the LS. As far as modifying the transmissions, I would just need one bell housing made to fit and I could swap it out if I swap a transmission.

I'm not saying this is what I'm going to do, it's just an option. I really just want to see if anybody has already made a bell housing to mate the stock trans to an LS

I've had the synchro assemblies blow apart before and found ball bearings when I drained the oil. Not as much of a power issue. Thing is you will probably make more than 350whp pretty easily. The bell housings aren't just bolt-on/off swappable. The trans needs to be fully dismantled since the bell housing and the front bearing carriers are the same piece. I don't know of any kit or adapter plate that's already been made. People usually opt for a stronger trans when it's going to a swapped motor anyway.

If your going to do anything, make sure you atleast add a trans cooler if you dont already have one.

Torque breaks parts not horsepower. You've destroyed a clutch, a diff and axles, I think it's time to get a full drivetrain upgrade or a stronger car.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already got DSS axles, an M85 diff, and a 500+hp clutch. My drivetrain is where it needs to be, I was just looking for a way to use my spare transmissions.

I would sell the few spare stock frs transmissions. just go with a transmission that will last a lot longer, and enjoy driving the car (more seat time, then garage time).

This very well may end up being what I do. I'm already going to sell my turbo kit, cooling components, and part my engine...might as well! I was just hoping for an easy solution to mate the stock trans is all, since I already have a few. T56 it is

Obviously it's not where it needs to be if youre doing an LS swap. The m85 diff is no stronger that stock, BTW you're welcome for finding out it fit. A clutch will still fail if you constantly clutch kick drift it. Just sell the stock trans. I'm unsure if you were actually serious or if this was a late April fools joke really.
