Rear shock leak

My rear shocks are leaking at 15000 KM... says the Toyota shop which did the 15 000 KM yearly maintenance.

He says it's not the first time he sees this. Any info on rear shock leaks issues?

No, it's fully stock, used as a daily driver car with no sport driving or anything special, roads are rather smooth around here too... so no it's not lowered and never been anything like loaded (never put anything heavier than a laptop in the trunk!)

I had a bad leak in mine. Driver side rear. Not sure what caused it. I replaced the strut a few months back. Stock OEM strut online is only about $70

Edit
just realized you're in France. Not sure the price for struts.

I'm at 46,000 miles and I use her as a daily driver on back roads with enthusiasm. The roads are not very smooth either and I haven't noticed any problems.

Did Toyota dealership point out the issue to you? Or did you ask them to check that because you noticed something was off?

Is that a wearable item or covered under warranty?

No I didn't notice anyting, it's during the 15 000 KM Maintenance (oil drain and stuff) that they noticed it and pointed it out to me. And yes, it is under warranty, so I don't pay anyting.

In fact what concerned me is that he said that it was a pretty common issue on the GT86 when I'd never heard of it (although I'm on the forums pretty often), so I'm wondering why he said that "lie", he didn't need to, he could have just said I'd been "unlucky" to have a leak, but it's under warranty. The fact he tried to explain it by a "lie" (it been a common issue) has attracted my suspicion now...

In all cases I want to have a look myself just to see if I notice anything, and in all cases I'm going to tell him I'll check the springs after the shock change to make sure they aren't marked anywhere (the tool they use to take springs off often marks them, then they rust and break...). I wonder if the new shocks will come premounted with the springs on them?

It's not unheard of for this car to blow shocks, some Google searching will come up with at least a few.
