Battlefield Hardline

Anyone else pick it up? I ran through the intro episode of the single player then hit up the multiplayer for a bit over an hour yesterday. Multiplayer has a bit of a different feel to BF4 but I really liked the maps I played.

EDIT: I am on PS4, feel free to add me if you play. PSN is turdinator22

I'm too into GTA Heists right now to worry about another new game for PS4; never was a fan of the Battlefield series anyways...

I play it on xbox one.
I honestly like the other battlefields more. The gameplay felt really different in this one.
The controls feel really different for some reason, i can't get used to it. and i freakin suck at this one. The other battlefields i'm usually top 3 at the end of the game, but this one i'm horrible at. i'm always like 2-10 or something. wtf is going on?

oh and is it just me or is it difficult to spot the enemy a lot of the times? like it's too dark or something

Add me up, I've been playing a bunch the last couple days... Having a blast with hardline over BF4

It definitely has a different feel to it. I notice that you seem to die quicker also reloads and grenade throws seem to take an eternity. I think overall I prefer the feel of BF4 but I am still having a ball with hardline.

I also seem to get a lot of lag on the everglades map but not much on the others.

Do you also notice that on a lot of the maps, it's very hard to see the enemy?

And it might just be me, but the controls even feel different, on all the other games i could aim and shoot easily and follow the target. On this one, it seems as though i'm spraying everywhere. I played with the sensitivity a bit but still. Maybe i just suck

This is the problem I have with most shooters today. The run and gun effect has taken over all titles and franchises thanks to COD. It feels like shooters are all about a test of reflex now. Whoever shoots first wins. I like shooters where if you are more skilled than the other player, you can still kill them despite the fact they got the jump on you. For example games like CS:GO and Halo.

That's my problem with most modern shooters as well, particularly in multiplayer. Typically, when I play a single player FPS I play like its real life.

That means you don't run around in the open with guns blazing and jumping like a lunatic. That doesn't translate well to multiplayer. It also doesn't help that I played games on PC well before consoles could handle decent FPS so I can't play with a controller, no time to transition.

That's my excuse anyway....

As with BF4 the two things I find frequently is that when playing conquest for instance people on your team will go for a kill when capturing checkpoints is more important for the team and that people don't tag the enemy much. It can be hard to see other players but if they have been tagged its much easier. Plus you get points for tags.

Hardline feels more like it bridges the gap between run and gun and a more skill based shooter to me. Some of the maps are small with lots of buildings which feel more of a reflex/run and gun style. Other maps seem to reward more careful and precise play. I pretty much only play Conquest Large tho.

I've been playing Battlefield for the past few games they have released and its always been my first choice for a FPS.

I personally am loving the multiplayer. I do wish there were more weapons. We shall see what the new installments have to offer.

Played the first and second campaign episodes. The second episode was about 30 minutes long and maybe 5 of that was actual gameplay.. kind of dissapointed with that.

My good friend and I aren't too into tactical, but we play to the point where we use minimal communication due to each other knowing exactly what the other is doing. We still use basic comms though (i.e. on your six, suppressing, etc.) We both been playing since Battlefield: Bad Company and I've enjoyed the journey Dice has provided, although the campaign could use a bit of writing work.

The whole reason Dice transitioned to a 'Cops and Robbers' idea was to keep the Battlefield fresh for the player. They didn't want to make something that Call of Duty is turning into. My one co-worker and I saw the next Battlefield (late 2015) will be more Star Wars related :3.

Back on point, I transitioned from BF4 to Hardline with ease. Adapting to the new feel of Xbox One, the feel of the weapons, and the pilot seat to which I love so dearly (30 something service stars in BF4 and up to five on Hardline now). Hardline is a good game to have fun with, while providing a BF control and gameplay.

Incase anyone is interested, you can add me on XBL: Thee Irish Guy, mostly sticking to Xbox One though.

When I began playing, I stated the same thing. However, Dice wanted to stick with the traditional weapons that thieves or robbers/police would be able to actually afford/acquire, which makes sense. There will be four installments (DLC), first one coming in June I believe. There's a good chance it will release weapons with it, but I won't be mad if it doesn't.

For the campaign, ya I see where you're coming from. However, it's more story driven than action concerned. It gets better though. Also, it lets you choose how to play, guns blazing or arresting the badies.
