EL or UEL headers to reduce torque dip?

So, I'm looking at replacing my headers and getting a tune to help eliminate the notorious torque dip on my FR-S. Would EL or UEL headers be better to achieve that? I know the UEL headers give more of a rumble, but I'm primarily concerned about the torque dip. What's the consensus on this?

if you really did search you'll find that there is near unanimous agreement that the more important thing on fixing the torque dip is a good tune and quality headers piece rather than what configuration of header.

That being said UEL (specifically JDL's) is shown to increase low-to-midrange torque over similar EL offerings, all other things considered

Don't you feel special that you got someone to spoon feed you now?

From my research, same as said above really. Good quality headers are your best bet. When comparing two sets of quality headers, UEL are found to slightly increase low-end torque, thus fixing the torque dip "better", while EL are found to slightly increase top-end power.

I'm personally going for UEL for more of the boxer rumble. The difference is so small that its not worth arguing for one or the other. Just get them from a good company, then pick from there based on what sound you want.

@Koa - While your intentions are good, make sure that forum group of yours is actually helping people instead of referring people to Google (I know you did, but still). Before I registered, I would often search for information to only find posts saying "Go search Google you idiot". Ironically I was coming from a Google search... Just putting that out there.

I'm just trying to help people find information easier. Most don't know about focused site searches. Notice the subtle difference between telling someone to "go search google, idiot" and "hey, there's a way where you can search within sites for what you want".

Profound impact. Little difference.

It's all in the site:

Lets not forget the timeframe searches. Best information I found was setting Google to only search results 2+ years old. Made info seeking much easier.

I'd introduce a whole slew of filters and tricks for condensing and working with data but trying to hammer out the basics before anything else. Good suggestion though, I will brief the crew on those filters for later dissemination

Could also throw in stuff like -google or -"search google" / -search -google to limit these results. But... :P

I think it also is going to depend on which EL or UEL headers as well. Collector, runner lengths, etc, all come in to play.

I have JDL EL and there is no dip at all.

I can't recommend JDL's stuff more than I already have. They are backlogged somewhat, and it takes a long time to get it, but its still some of the best, if not the best headers there are for this platform on N/A. I couldn't be happier with my JDL UEL.

I still need to catch up with you for a ride sometime to hear how loud yours is with the header!
