Knock sound while on and off
There is a knocking sound that occurs after the car has warmed up a bit and then continues for about 10 minutes after the car has been turned off. It only happens about once every 2-5 minutes and I don't really notice it happening as much while I'm driving. It also doesn't happen every single time I drive the car unless I'm just not paying attention and don't hear it.
I'm not entirely sure where it's coming from but my best guess is beneath the car or somewhere in the engine bay. It's a relatively loud noise and you can even slightly feel it. Is this an issue that should concern me or is it just something normal with the car that I don't know about? Sorry if this has already been addressed but I didn't have much luck finding any info about it. |

Your post is hard to decipher, but I assume you mean the noise you hear after parking and shutdown. Totally normal sounds of various metals cooling after being f-ing hot.

Yeah, I was assuming it was just metals cooling down. That's definitely what it sounds like. But it is rather loud. And I hear it when it's running too but it's not as loud as when the car is turned off.

Starting from cold, the car runs for a bit to warm up the catalytic convertors. Lots of heat into the exhaust early. I've never noticed any odd noises. Ask your dealer the next time you go, but it's more than likely normal.
ETA: Yeah, it can be loud cooling off! |
