Nameless cam plate problems..

Didn't think it was possible to have a defective piece of aluminum. I installed this last night to fix a very minor oil leak at the cam plate, and the Nameless part made it WAY WORSE. Followed the install video exactly, and it's leaking worse than ever before. Tried to reinstall it two more times with the same result. Is it possible the plate or o-ring is defective? Do I need an additional gasket to make this work? Any thoughts?..

Pull the o-ring and check it for cracks/deformation. If it seems that the o-ring is rubbing off on your hand, it's likely you got one that isn't compatible with your oil.

I'll pull it off and check again. I'm running Pennzoil Platinum 5W20.

Well, I don't have any first hand knowledge with this part ..... but, I'd clean it up real well, make sure the "O" ring is seated good ....... AND goop it up with some gasket seal, put it back on, being sure to tighten, to spec., the bolts, uniformly.

Betcha it won't leak .....

Should've got the original Raceseng part instead of the copycat.

Yeah I'm starting to wonder that. I just like the design of the Nameless more.

I haven't installed mine yet, and I'm hoping not to deal with this problem

basically these parts mate up to flat surfaces, as long as the metal isn't bent or warped which it shouldn't be unless in shipping it got messed up. You're plate should be fine. Now what actually helps in the liquid tight sealing is your o-ring, so if it has a defect all you need is a replacement. Now if it's not getting a good uniform squeeze then it doesn't matter how good or bad your o-ring is because it won't be sealing.

Raceseng's offering comes with a Viton O-ring.. consistent quality. If Nameless has a like-quality O ring in their setup, it most likely is user installer error. Are you 100% cleaning the mating surfaces from all gasket goop, and applying RTV sealant as per installation specs?

Pics would help.

Mine didn't come with RTB sealant. Just the O-Ring. TBH, I have no idea if the ring is like-quality of Raceseng's.

Post a picture of your O ring. I could likely tell you if its a viton by the color/condition. Viton is what I hope these kits come with.
