BRZ Demo Car?

Hey... are there any BRZ Demo cars roaming around toronto or the GTA?

I subsequently grabbed a FRS after originally falling in love (lol) with the BRZ.

Since this will likely be my DD for the next 5-10 years I am seriously reconsidering my FRS purchase and looking to get a BRZ on the basis on the headlights alone... I know, superficial, but meh. If I'm spending money on a car I would rather not have any regrets.

So... any way I can take a look at the BRZ to really see if the Headlights are a biggie? Has anyone seen the BRZ LED DRL and HIDs?

Thanks

I don't think there will be any demo BRZs anywhere. But you might be able to get a look at someone else's when they get them. Some dealerships might already be getting allotments coming in, and I think orders should come in mid-June.

Personally, the headlights were a major turnoff for the FR-S for me. The chrome looks kinda cheap in person (I don't even care about the LED or HID, if they just painted it black it would look much better). I originally preferred the FR-S front end in pictures, but in person I was surprised that I much preferred the BRZ front end, so my choice was pretty simple.

you know whats funny, the hoopla around the LED strip around the headlights...those are parking brake lights (someone on the forum confirmed it). the DRL is the strips just above the fog light area.

yup, those are parking lights. According to the manual, turning the headlight switch to the middle setting runs drl (above the fog) and the led strip around the headlights only. Turning the headlights all the way on turns everything on (including the led strip around the headlights) except the drl.

I intend to drive around using the middle setting.

Interesting... well either way the strip above the fogs are LEDs as well no?

I think I'll go ahead and try and get a BRZ... even if I have to wait another year - I don't want to live with the regret of missing out on the LEDs/HIDs + push start!

If Scion had only included HIDS and LEDs....

DRL should be on full time regardless of switch setting...(which means the strip above the fogs only)
Otherwise they're just parking lights. So that description is actually kid of strange.

No, DRL switch off once the headlights are on (making them redundant). In many cars the DRL are in the headlight anyway, or the DRL even uses the headlight bulb on a dimmer setting. This is normal and is what the manual indicates.

I'll be right there as soon as warrantee is up. I love the headlights on the GT86/BRZ but I don't care about climate control and what not. The extra 2 grand up front just wasn't what I wanted to spend.

At the same time I'd love it if someone could figure out how to flash the head unit and activate BeSpoke. I am sad it didn't make it to Canada...

Rather have it stock & spend less.

how? the only expense would be for HID projectors ~300$ max + High Power LED strips ~100$ max + sillicone to reseal lights.

Wouldn't you need low beam HIDs, high beam HIDS? Not to mention fogs and a new switch for the fogs

I'd be curious how to wire the low beams - I think the FRS has 1 light bulb for high and low?

I figure it will end up costing 800~ total + several hours of time. Again - for a grand more then that you could pick up the BRZ and get everything OEM + a few nicer goodies.

I duno... I'm still conflicted.
