FS: Carbotech Brake Pads Fr/Rr

Carbotech pads, Fr XP10's, Rr XP8's, the combination tested and recommended by Mike at Carbotech for FR-S track duty in original boxes.

Used a handful of track days, never on street, plenty of meat remaining, used with high temp copper lube. Warm up quickly enough for auto-x IMO and transform the car on a track with stable, predictable, balanced braking forces.

New were $345+shipping. Sell locally for $180 or ship USPS Priority Mail for $200.

Paypal, thanks.

Pics? Thickness? Looking for a set of dedicated track pads and would love to try these out without having to invest full price.

Fronts measured about 1/4" material left on each pad, rears about 3/8" material left on each pad. Pads were switched l/r sides of car for each track day, not sure if that evens wear or not but fr and rr pads measured the same on both sides. Brownish residue on backing plates is from high-temp copper lube applied before each use.

Fronts are 3/16, rears are 5/16.

Don't Carbotechs have rivets that appear at 2/16?

Don't know about rivets. Other FR-S owners have driven them to the backing plates over time but don't recall them mentioning rivets and none are visible anywhere on the pads.

Searching various forums shows new pad material roughly 11mm so fronts have about 44% remaining, rears 73% remaining.

Many drivers using them in racing applications say they run them down to the backing plates but to use a high grade brake fluid to withstand the extra heat.

Yeah, I can't see any rivets either.

How'd you like them?

Not well suited for street use I've read but found them exceptional on track. Properly bedded in they're quiet and the ceramic dust easily rinsed off afterward leaving no corrosion behind.

Running mostly at Portland Intl. Raceway that's two long straights connected with six turns at each end, I was able to brake at least as late, usually later, with what looked and felt like more control and stability than most cars including several in twins running other pads and heavily modified compared to my nearly stock car. Most of my overtakes were a result of setting up the pass with late braking.

Running Motul 600, never encoutered any boiling, fade or soft pedal. I'd buy them again.

I'll just be using them for track days, strongly considering taking these.

What are you replacing them with?

lol! A plane!

Awesome.

Alright, well I think I want the pads but I can't commit to them until next week after I move. I want to keep a buffer of cash for unexpected moving expenses.

If you still have them I'll probably take em.
