New Member (mates are sick of me talking bout the ft-86)
Hey everyone!!!!! New member... All my mates are fed up with me finding any chance to talk about the FT-86.... Im a Holden boy growing up however always been a huge lover of the AE-86, the R32 and R34 and probably my favourite the Silvia S15.... Favourite motor being the 2JZ though... Im 25 living in Perth, Western Australia and will be trading my 6litre ute in for the toyota as soon as its available... Putting a deposit down as soon as Toyota are willing to accept one hahahaha..... Anyway great to find this site and look forward to discussing everything with like minded people...
First question.... When will it be confirmed about the motor going in??? FT-86GOD, |

well im talking base model. there'll most probably be a turbo whether it'll be in the g-sports or a trd version remains to be seen but i personaly dont care about the turbo because power is not my reason im getting the car.

its a sports car how it should be lightweight, compact, rwd, a decent amount of power and when thats combined it usually makes a great handling car and at the end of the day thats what i consider to be the most fun part of driving, i just hope it lives up to what it is aiming to be, because with all the hype its gotta be a really fukn great car or it will be a huge failure

Hahaha i almost wanted to ask for your phone # Calais just to talk to u forever about what it was like actually seeing it up and close but i wouldnt know where to stop hahahaha....... U took fantastic under carriage pics, did they allow u over the barriers or something or was everyone allowed so close or did u just stretch out with the camera????
Also why after seeing it and seeing the intercooler and hearing all the turbo chit chat u still come to think it might just be N/A??? Sure there is talk of yamaha working with Toyota for high Rev output but Toyota themselves have put on the spread sheet a 2000cc turbo motor. If its true to AE-86 form i can totally see why u think it may just be N/A though... Will u be getting a FT-86 as soon as they hit the showroom floor??? May i ask how old u r bro???? |

yes thats the subaru mule version and most probably wont have the engine breathed on it by yamaha/toyota so it will most probably have a turbo BUT we are talking about toyota here their red concept has no turbo and will be worked on by yamaha so it'll be made for n/a. also the material across the bonnet scoop is unknown whether it is solid or it lets air through it could just be one they had lying around and put it on in order to get it out so they can rack up the miles for testing and dont believe any article unless its straight from toyota or subaru because they are always rumors and pretty much always wrong p.s. i had to reach over lean on the barriers and stretch my arm as far as possible to get those shots and not one person from the toyota stand tried to stop me, and they were less than 1m away at times lol |
