FRS/BRZ racing floor mats

is anybody selling already made racing floor mats ?

I mean some kind of diamond plate that would bolt on to the oem attach point, when you remove the complete carpet flooring.

Once the carpet is removed it is pretty slippery and low around the feet area and I would love to have something looking a little more finished.

Also the driver's left foot rest has a bit screw sticking out on that side, I'd love to have a nice foot rest installed on my race car.

I would use grip-tape instead, lighter, and probably more effective.

I went ahead and build myself some aluminum floor from a 1/16 aluminum sheet.

It is not perfect but with only a set of hand tools that's all I could do.

I first made a carton board template, but the floor and sides are really un-even with plenty of different angle, but after a bunch of trial and error, I got a decent fit.

I placed a rubber mat under the aluminum to protect the floor. And the aluminum plate is bolted to the front dead pedal bolt and also another bolt sticking behind the gas pedal. To the back, the plate goes up and then back under the seat front mounting point.

With these 4 attaching point, the plate is absolutely stable.

I hope something with a CNC machine and some CAD experience can someday offer something like this but fitted nicely.

So why did you go with that extra metal vs. some simple grip tape?

I actually bought me grip tape and I'll try that very soon.

first thing is that I really like to have my feet a little higher. The pedals were designed with a layer of carpet in mind, once I removed the OEM carpet, I always felt my feet were a little too low to the ground for proper pedal work.

Also I like to keep thing nice and clean. All factory racer have nice metal plate on the floor, I like that finished look a lot better. If only my plate was cut with a nice water jet machine, it would look pretty cool...
