North American International Auto Show

Anyone else streaming this from work?

What are you looking forward to? I'm really hoping GM unveils the new Camaro, but its doubtful. They've kept their lips sealed really tight in comparison to Ford dropping the GT350 and soon the GT500.

Would also like to see Toyota unveil the 2016 Corolla, but I have a feeling the Tacoma and the spotlight stealer, FT-1, will be their focus.

Edit: Apparently I already missed Chevrolet's debut. Bolt? Not interested.

Definitely would have liked to have seen the 2016 Camaro.

Chevy should have stuck to the Volt style drivetrain for the Bolt. Then I would have been interested in it as a car for younger family members, but of course not at $30K. That would be used market all the way. I'm not going to buy a kid some car where I'm going to be constantly worrying about them running out of juice.

Since when is GM making BMW i3s...
The new Ford GT looks amazeballs, styling by Lamborghini almost.
GT350R is still too heavy from the sounds of things.
New Titan front end looks terrible and can only tow 12000lbs even with a Cummins V8?
Vehicle names are getting even worse, AMG GLE63S coupe??? F-Pace? Bolt?

The "Bolt" name I get, kinda. Never have liked number names though like the AMG.

Definitely like the look of the GT, even if it is an awful color for a sports car.

Yeah, that is a slick looking car I won't be able to afford.

Surprised and VERY impressed by the new Ford GT....except the powerplant. How do you stick a FPC V8 in the Mustang and then put a TT V6 in your new Halo car?!

Ford wins for enthusiasts:

A. GT
B. GT350
i. 500+ hp V8
ii. Carbon Fiber Wheels
iii. magnetic suspension
iv. 150 lbs. lighter than the last GT350

Ford 2015: "Hahaha you call that a performance car?"

Edit: @Noble713 I'll take a twin-turbo 600+ horsepower likely ridiculously torquey for the displacement and surprisingly decent fuel economy V6 over yet another NA V8 any day. Progress yo, if it weren't for the fueling limits in F1 those V6's would likely be the most powerful engines since the last turbo era.

Weight, fuel economy, emissions... yah know; Technical stuff.

Pissed off Toyota is still pumping the pooch and couldn't at least give production date for the FT-1.

The real answer: Le Mans GTE.

http://www.24h-lemans.com/wpphpFichi...ons-lm-gte.pdf

Suggest anyone interested in the Ford GT engine configuration to read from page 13 onward.

The GT was built with Le Mans in mind, nothing else. That it happens to be a decent street car is a side benefit.

Halo cars are often about emotion as much as technicality.

Similarly, my previous Mitsubishis put down the same-ish power figures with 4 cylinders (4G63 and 4B11) as my current Toyotas do with 6....but I sure as hell know which is more pleasurable to drive: the aural symphony of the 1JZ is unmatched.

I'll accept the "We did it for Le Mans" answer though.

Yeah, it was all about the Tacoma yesterday. Pretty awesome truck though. My roommate had one in college and it got us around and moved perfectly. I think the redesign looks pretty good. My fiance would love one since she's a truck girl.

I'm waiting to hear about the 2016 Corolla and the FT-1 this year. I just don't know when Toyota is going to spill the beans. Maybe Chicago?
