Exhaust break in?

Just installed my catback and front pipe and was wondering if there is a break in period for new exhaust. If so how long is this break-in period? Also after the break-in will it get louder or quieter?

My DC Sports cat-back took about 3 weeks til it got to full volume. it picked up ~ 8-10 dbs and sounded better afterwards.

I say quieter. When I first installed my exhaust, I was ready to pack it up and get rid of it the next day because it was too loud. Decided to give it a few hundred miles, and now its not too loud at all.

Depends on the exhaust. It'll take 500 to 1000 miles to break in.

On the Audi, the car became louder after 1000 miles. On our Z, which was a cherry bomb and mangaflow muffler, it became quieter and less raspy after 500 miles.

The ones that get quieter are just making you more deaf, so you are adjusting - in a bad way. :p
