Picking up lots of rocks?? (MPSS)

I recently got new Pilot SS to replace the stock Primacy's and while the grip is surprising at times (love it!), the thing that surprises me even more is how many little rocks the tires pick up and throw in to the wheel well! Sounds like I'm driving off road at times! My other car with PSS (275 rears in that one vs 225's in the BRZ) does not seem to do this.

The tires have wide channels in them but I've never had this happen with a tire before - heck even when I had a pickup truck!

Anyone else notice their tires grabbing every loose object on the road? I might need to buy some rallyarmor mud flaps just to protect against flying rocks!

Sticky tires + light sports car with little sound deadening = Noise

100% normal

It's not a BMW

I'm running 225/45/17 MPSS on my car, and yeah they pick up a ton of little debris pieces, but that's why I put the OEM mudguards on at least. Like Wyattkb said, there is little to no sound deadening in the wheel wells of this car, or in the entire car in general, so every little thing makes noise that you can hear.

Same with my PSS's, at first. Now after about 5 autocross events and 6k miles or so they don't pick up nearly as many small pebbles/rocks. No clue as to why, I have overheated them a few times to the point were they where greasy. That could have something to do with it, but I'm really just guessing.

I have Dunlop zII's and even on a cold day, I hear so much shit being kicked up into the wheel wells. I drive with my backseat down ocassionally and it's really loud.
