Paypal question

Got a question about paypal. I've only just started using it instead of doing wire transfers. Making payments, easy.

One of the things I've ordered recently was out of stock. So I requested a refund from the seller. They processed that straight away.

When I look on my pp account, it says the amount has been refunded. The amount isn't in my pp balance, nor has it been sent back to my CC.

Where should I expect the funds to appear (PP account, or CC) and what is a reasonable time for this to be actioned? It's been 7 days now.

All refunds I have had in the past went straight to my CC. Two of those were the next day and one was about a week after PP said it had been refunded.
I would be contacting PP at this point to confirm where the refund went.

I've always found them helpful and easy to reach over the phone. And I think customer service is US based.

Had a similar problem before the holidays. Sent money to the wrong paypal address.

After talking with paypal, they said it can take up to 5 day (business days) after processing the return to have the money back in your paypal account. Then after you withdraw the money, up to an additional 5 days (again...business days) for your bank to clear it. I think all said and done it was 6 business days for the money to be back in my account. If you used a CC, it might be faster like @Tcoat said. I have my paypal linked to my debit account so maybe that's why mine took a bit longer.

Don't worry (I know its hard, I was checking my account daily), the money will come back.

If you have any questions, I found the customer service with paypal to be pretty good.. Give them a shout!
