Toms Tail lights Install Issue

I just got my Toms Tail Lights in and im having a lot of trouble removing the relay flasher. I'm using the screwdriver to push on the tom tap of it, and pushing behind it with a lot of force, and I can't get it off. I dont want to mar up the OEM one with the screwdriver. Any one else have trouble with this?

Thanks

Yeah I recall that being a pain in the ass to remove. I scratched the crap out of it and my hand.

Pull/pry out the trim clip with the flasher relay as one piece... It will make your life ALOT easier...

Slide the new LED flasher relay into the clip and pop it back in it's place. Done!

I couldn't get it out using the method shown by the ft86speedfactory install video as well, so I just pulled downward on the relay out of frustration and it came off with the soft white plastic clip it was attached to. It was easier to remove the clip from the stock relay afterwards (not sure if I just got lucky that it didn't break, or if it really will not break since it's made of a soft plastic), then I just attached it to the tom's relay and pushed it back on the hole in the dash beam.

I hope this helps.

Agreed with previous post, i had to remove the whole relay clip from the metal frame.. not unclipping it as suggest in the instructions as it was pretty hard. Just pull down hard then replace and it'll go back in snug as it was.

An alternative is to unplug the connector and leave the OEM flasher attached in its factory location. Install the new flasher and zip tie it with other wiring. That would be less painful and less risk with cutting your hand trying to yank the OEM flasher that is held by a strong plastic clip (very limited space behind the dashboard). Just my 2 cents!

Installing that little relay was the hardest thing to install until I realised there was a plastic clip attached to the frame.
