Unichip Harness Problem

So I bought a Unichip from a user on the forum, and figured out after trying to install that the harness' female port had a broken clip that prevented it from fitting into the throttle body's male port. Is there any way that I can safely Jerry-rig it? I have contacted Jack from Unichip who advised me that there is no replacement part, I have to buy a new harness. Has anybody had a similar problem and come up with a quick fix for it?

That sucks man. Hope the harness isn't too expensive to replace.

Yeah its about 215 for the full harness replacement, so I'm screwed unless there is some type of removable gel fastening compound wonder product out there.

I suppose you could use a zip tie to hold it in place? Just make sure you're not pinching any of the wires and make sure it won't come off easily.

Wow, at that point you should just find out what the connector is and solder a new one on.

I definitely thought about a zip tie to hold it down, but the thing is, its already a really cramped fit. It would be super hard to try and get both hands in there to properly secure that zip tie. Furthermore, the thing just about falls off with a gentle tug, so I'm skeptical about the structural integrity of the jerry-rig.

I had to use zip ties to keep the connectors on my coils in my last car, it sucked, but it worked.

The only reason it falls off is because there isn't anything to hold it in place, the zip tie would hold it in.

I honestly don't know how or if the ziptie will fit, it was just an idea. Maybe you could go to a junker and find a connector from an older Subaru and solder the new one in?
