Question about CF Hoods...
My wife got me a Seibon VS carbon fiber hood for Christmas. Has anyone had any issues with not having hood pins? Should I get pins for safety?
Thanks. |

You should be fine, from what I heard, there isn't a huge difference in weight savings compared to OEM hood

No, I was more concerned with the latch not being sufficient to hold it down or not fitting 100% oem and blowing off. I do have the grimmspeed gas struts on it as well.

Hood pins are highly recommended. I have the Seibon DV and before I got the aerocatch fasteners, you could see how the hood started vibrating and wanted to lift above ~80MPH (on a non windy day, now imagine driving straight against strong winds..)

For what it's worth I've seen the same thing on my car at the track but, with the stock hood.

Maybe those hood pins would give you an extra .2mph down the straight!

Hood pins are a must. Anyone who runs without pins is a fool.
