thoughts on 2015 Golf R

About 38k, awd, and I always liked hot hatches. competition will be wrx/sti (no hatch though..), S3, Focus RS when it gets here, Pulsar GTI-R, cla amg.

The manual trans won't arrive for the golf R until fall (DSG comes first, presale on Jan 8th) so I have time to think. I'm not sure how much I can drive the BRZ with a new born next year. and I fucking hate driving my SUV.

The AWD of the Golf R series has always been inferior to other current gen AWD vehicles. It's a great commuter car with nice luxuries that's supped up a little but beyond that it's not a great car in any particular category, only good in a lot. Plus the 4 cyclinder lost a lot of that charm the old v6 had of the IV and V golf R. I wouldn't spend that much on the R. I'd get another MKIV R32 way before a new one.

the old R32s were only offered in a 2 door, that's not making it any easier for him to get a child in and out.

well, we're going to try for one next summer, +10 months until the fucker is born, so I still have some time. We'll see what fun awd 4 door will come out.

Its too hard to even think about letting go the BRZ.

Here is a piece of advice about cars and kids. What ever you buy at this time it will turn into a piece of shit. You see the baby formula, changing diapers and all the stuff that comes with transporting kids is a pain. Then when you have 2 or more all hell will break out.

I know this with 2 kids, 8 and 11.

Taking a look at the cars you own, I too own a Mercedes R350. This sir is your perfect kid car (gas milage sucks). Bar none this is the best car next to the Crossfire SRT 6 that Mercedes and Chrysler.

On a total side note I came really close 60 days ago trading my FR-S in for a SRT 6 (only 5,000 made and 20 for sale in the US currently). When people catch on this will be a modern day classic car that everyone overlooked!

Keep the FR-S for date night with your wife. I find that keeping the little things that bring you pleasure preserves your identity when going through a lot of change. Hopefully your car is fully paid off.

Now with the money save open a college saving fund with $10K.

There were only 5000 2004 VW R32, 2008 R32, 2012 R, but not sure about the 2016, so they are collectors cars-ish in the US, but they didn't have any restrictions outside of the US so not as collectable in my opinion to the Crossfire SRT6.

Just get a Lotus instead as they are the best handling enjoyment.

we had a chat today, and I was criticized about how I am being selfish with my car. I am not a single dousche any more and spending 20k on my car is unacceptable. She wants a bigger diamond as well.

All my life I only spend money on my self (other than gifts for girl friends, Christmas etc) but things are changing with marriage that I need to get used it.

Now I need to figure out if I should part out my car and put it back to stock, or sell it as a complete car. I noticed PRE is selling their shop turbo BRZ at Silverline for $27k.
