Cusco Street Zero A and Cusco 1.5 RS LSD

This weekend I had the opportunity to test my new 2015 Subaru BRZ (AT) at Streets of Willow going counter clockwise. The vehicle is equipped with Cusco Street Zero A coilovers, Winmax W2 pads front/rear, Cusco front strut bar with BCS, Cusco Air/Oil Separator (catch can), Cusco front power brace, Cusco Air Intake Suction pipe, Cusco rear control arms, Cusco rear power brace, and Cusco Euroster seat. It is on Enkei RPF1’s in a 17x9 +35 offset riding on Hankook Ventus RS3 tires in 245/40/17. The vehicle was consistently clocking times in the 1:32 range in automatic sport mode with the dampers set to full soft. As the day progressed we adjusted the dampers firmer each session to record how they reacted and if the lap times improved. By the last session of the day I was able to clock a 1:30 on my 2nd lap but had to come in early as the session ended prematurely. I firmly believe the vehicle would not have had any issues clocking in the 1:29 range had I been able to continue driving. I am a intermediate driver at best and believe that a more capable driver would have no issues clocking a second or more quicker than what I posted. This coilover kit is great for those who daily drive their vehicle and still want to take it out to the track on the weekends. The ride is very compliant on our horrible Southern California roads and is able to absorb the vibration from uneven pavement along with sharp impacts from small potholes. At full soft it is still firm enough to attack the freeway entrances without any concern and minimal body roll. Even if you don’t track the vehicle and just daily drive it you will appreciate the immediate steering response along with the comfortable ride that budget coilovers will never be able to provide. If you are in the market for coilovers I would definitely recommend this setup. You can test drive the vehicle in the pit area at the next Winmax 86 Cup event and I can provide a ride along so you can feel the suspension working under track conditions. The BRZ is slated to receive a Cusco LSD along with 4.55 final drive in the future and I will continue to post reviews on how it performs under daily driving conditions along with lap times at the track.

I am definitely not fast by any means. There are many areas where improvements can be made on track as demonstrated by my videos. I will be at Streets of Willow on the 24th for the Winmax 86 Cup so please stop by if you would like more information on the setup or need a ride along. The newest addition to the vehicle is the Cusco 1.5 RS LSD with Cusco 4.55 Final drive which will go on its trial run at this event. I will post a review after the event so people can get better insight on the benefits.
