I wonder if they'll allow the average joe to get access to the Vehicle Visualization thing and the commands they use to pull the data. That would be awesome.

I looked at the competition details. Wish I was actually closer to attend. It looks like the CAN-gateway ECU is masking the actual CAN data. There's no way to extract the raw CAN data. However, it does provide you with a list of potential information you can extract like YAW and acceleration info.

Wish those CAN-gateway ECUs are actually sold here though.

I actually competed in this event (My team got Second Place!). Tada-san voted for app too! Yeah they provided a their CAN gateway logger and we just got the data from there. you can READ 40 signals. Big thanks to @garfull and @Moto-P for their support!
