Theres an entire sub-forum dedicated to vendors who support ft86club. That might be a good place to start

I'd spend some time on here reading in the vendor, maintenance and technical forums. Might give you a good feel of who are reputable and more importantly active in the community.

Buy from venders that advertise and support this forum. There are several located in your area advertising on the forum.

Counter space Garage is pretty close to you and Mike and David are a world of knowledge that freely share advice here.

The problem with that is that the vendors on this forum rarely have the best prices. I have bought several items for my car, and all but once I was able to find the part cheaper from another vendor that wasn't a forum sponsor. The one time I bought from a forum sponsor, it was because they were the ONLY vendor that had the item I was looking for. I see sponsors here post messages running "specials" claiming they have the absolute best price, then find it somewhere else for 20% less. Yet suckers will jump on those forum "deals" just because it's a forum vendor.

Don't believe the hype. You do not owe the forum sponsors any loyalty whatsoever.

There is no single best site for buying parts for this or any car. One thing you can do is to get the manufacturer's part number of the item you're looking for and search for it on Frugal Mechanic, which is basically a search engine for car parts. Sometimes the deals change faster than FM can keep up, but I've gotten some good deals searching there. I have also found a few good deals just searching the part number on Google.

Also, don't forsake the big retailers. A lot of people just assume that parts for our cars are specialized and can only be purchased from forum vendors. You can often find those same parts much cheaper (and with free shipping) on Amazon (not Amazon Marketplace). Some of the major auto parts chains like Advance and O'Reilly carry specialized parts on their websites, and although their posted price may not be any better, those chains will often run deep discounts if you search for coupon codes. I got a cold air intake for my other vehicle from Advance Auto for $117 shipped that would have cost me $160 from any other vendor, just by using a coupon code I found on RetailMeNot.

If they want my business, they should offer the best price. Otherwise:

No.

The most important thing you can do before you buy from a website is make sure they are authorized to sale the product for warranty purposes and read reviews.

Forum sponsors may not always be the cheapest you can find on the internet but atleast for the most part other members can vouch for them whether good or bad. To me its just safer then purchasing from an unknown

Some people might disagree with me or say I'm wrong but I buy parts off eBay. Don't get me wrong, I buy name brand parts off eBay and I make sure the seller has good reviews. I purchased my headers off eBay and they are name brand and got it for cheaper than a lot of other vendors on there forums that off "special" pricing for forum members.

And forgot to mention, eBay is really good for fraud combined with PayPal. If a seller does you wrong eBay/PayPal will work with u to resolve the problem.

I also suggest rallysportdirect.com.

I bought my exhaust from them on Black Friday, since they had a slightly better coupon than FT86SF, and got it delivered yesterday.

Check the vendor/sponsor section of the forum to check out all the companies who work with FRS parts, that's the best place to start

LOL. As if reputable parts dealers didn't exist before this silly website was created.
