Best place to ask if a dealer is giving me a good price?
As the title states, I want to make sure I'm not clogging up the forum with my price quote questions. I've been negotiating with a dealer recently for a used 2015 Series blue, and I wanted to know if I should haggle down some more.
Where is the best place to ask for everyone's informed opionion about this? |

There are a couple of existing threads in this very sub-forum. I'd search for you but I'm on my phone. Just search and you'll find them.

I use this: https://www.truecar.com
You build out the car and then it tells you how much the dealer paid for it, how much most people in your are paid for it, and what a good price will be in your area. I used it and got my Limited for $27500. Anyway hope it works for ya. |

I have to laugh at the endless angst that people put themselves through when buying a car. This mortal fear of finding someone who paid a dollar less! Oh-my?!
Look at the car. Decide if it is worth it to to you at whatever price and make that offer. Who cares if you leave a few hundred on the table? It's worth $500 to me not to waste time with games. What I AM obsessed with is letting the salesperson know that I am only talking about cash out the door dollar figures. I tell them I only have one check and they get one chance to call the number so it better have tax tittle and whatever other shit they plan to sneak in included in that number. |

I agree. When I purchased my BRZ, I sent them an offer for $27,350. They straight up said yes. I probably could have spent another week "walking out" and pretending to be on the fence to drive the price down a bit more, considering they were so quick to agree to my first offer. I didn't, though, because screw that. I was happy with the price they quoted me, and I'm not going to be a complete **** to them. I understand they want to make a profit too. Sold.

I paid 29k+ out the door.. but then again was in December 2012, last one at dealer, and the only stick shift in the area.

I paid $25.6k on 2015 BRZ Limited out of the door. Two dealerships competing against each other. And knowing how much other BRZ or similar cars are being sold in the area. Their invoice doesn't mean that's what they paid as they still get mfg incentives.

Please do all my negotiation for me. I cannot get anyone to sell me this car for a price like that. ![]() Right now the best I've got is a 26k on a series blue used (4kmiles) with 28500 out the door. All other dealers that I've inquired for other trims (2015 limited, 2014 limited used, 2013 used) are giving me prices that are leading me to believe the series blue deal is the best one I'm gonna get. |

Trust me, a bit of a process and research comes a long way. I came in with papers in hand. I came in with a mentality that they are NOT the only dealership and I'm no hurry. Also, end of month or last Tuesday of the month is best to shop. Second, towards end of the year like November and December. Do NOT buy a car the first quarter of the year. People get their tax returns and they know they can sell it to someone without having to deal with negotiations because of tax returns.
4k miles...I'm always worried how it was driven. The break in period is one of the top key things to wonder how it was taken cared of. |
