GT86 German Cup series - documents

I was looking for roll cage build form factory and I stumbled upon some very interesting document about the German GT86 cup series.

Unfortunately they are in German, but they have a VERY VERY precise documentation of the car modifications. it is loaded with small mods.

Considering the series is backed by the manufacturer I would assume they have very good source for what needs to be modified or not.

I hope someone here can read german and provide some feedback.

couple of cool things include some cluster mod offering a shift light and buzzer.. I assume it comes with the ECU change, but would be cool to have

Some preliminary notes:

- Very soft springs. Seems like a very conservative setup, but Ohlins have external reservoirs...looks like a 2-way TTX setup with super beefy camber plate.
(EDIT: Rechecked specs and actually the spring setup is very similar to our setup, but stiffer (13k/16k) due to the type of tires they're using)
- Small oil cooler using a high quality core
- Motor is untouched
- Warns that Torsen LSD must be used (I'm just guessing) which means Clutch-Type LSD would be a cheater mod...
- Differential housing is enlarged for more oil capacity + includes a cooler
- Dual exhaust exhaust with high flow cats welded at the tip
- Lists two different FD. I think one uses STD Torsen LSD from the factory and the other uses an upgraded Torsen unit.
- Monster TMG strut tower bar...
- Project Mu 999 brake pads (we love this brake pad and have some in stock if you guys are interested).
- OZ wheel 17x8 +50 must be a nice light wheel, but also shows 8" is really all you need for factory power.
- Spec dry and rain tires.
- Standard rotors w/ TMG SS lines + AP Racing 660 fluid...basically RBF660.
- Brake ducting included so this is meant for W2W racing...not quite necessary for time attack.
- Full data logger, fire suppression system, and complete roll cage.

This is a pretty sweet ride. As noted, Ohlins like softer spring setups (standard basic knowledge) and roll stiffness looks to be on the softer side.

This car looks like a 80k car...any pricing?

I am attaching the price list
40k euro, not that bad for a clean car with toyota backing.

BTW: the roll cage design is similar to their rally car CR-V3, to the exception of the bar going into the engine compartment for the rally car.

Too bad that roll cage is not NASA/SCCA friendly because this is the only roll cage with the backing of Toyota motorsports. I was trying to find good specs on the cage but no luck so far.

Looks closer to 50k+ euros. Since it's a regulated setup, it's not bad. The parts are a bit pricey. We have developed packages if people want to go for a complete Time Attack setup straight off the bat.

Any specs on the sways? I'm guessing typical european soft spring stiff sway...

Looks like 18mm front and 14mm rear sways...uber soft...and yes...we're communicating via forums...LOL

NINJA EDIT: looks like 130kg/cm front and 160kg/cm rear springs...aka 13k/16k setup which indicates something...:P

That cage is not illegal by any means. In PT, you take +2 points for it because it is additional chassis stiffening. In any of the power to weight classes, it is perfectly OK. Not sure where you read that it isn't NASA friendly, but that is inaccurate. Please use accurate sources.

seems kind of pointless... just extra weight hanging at the back and they wont get hot enough to work properly.

The point is that the cats are there to meet a spec as required by the series or the German government or the EU, not to limit emissions output.
