Sub hookup for 2013 FRS ((HU has no RCAs)

After wading thru umpteen pages of threads I still don't se a simple how to on getting a sub signal out of the trunk amp. So which wires will provide a signal to a sub amp? Is there a power switch signal lead in there too?
I have the Pioneer HU 2 knob touch screen with no RCAs
I also have a flame proof jacket so fire away.

How many threads did you really wade through?

This thread has the answer and has been referred to by virtually every subwoofer install in no-RCA HU/stock amp thread in ft86club forums.

You want to splice into 3 & 9, 4 & 10.

The top one is your positive.
Bottom one is your negative.

Good luck and use google to search next time

I'll check my browser and get back to you on the thread count.
I found the thread you refer to to be TMI but your reply to be concise and exactly what I was/looking for. Looking for simplicity not repining adaptor plugs and whatnot. I did a Google search and got a load of BRZ and head units with RCA solutions, thus the wading thru useless threads.
Lucky for me I had my flame proof jacket deployed.

I didn't flame you, but to be honest you're splicing and dicing a very new vehicle. You could at least spend the 20 or so minutes to learn exactly what you're doing before hacking at the thing.

You're lucky I didn't have my flamethrower out

Search. If there aren't any sub outputs on your head unit, you need a line out converter. Signal on for your amp can be any 12v source that turns on when the car is "ON"

That's true, but can't the speakers 'pop' when starting if the amp powers before it gets signal?

Not necessarily. There are a few conditions that contribute to the pop of speakers. The pop comes from changing offset voltages in pre-amplification circuits. However, most quality hardware have a DC offset or delay built in that'll prevent the pop by waiting for a constant voltage before powering on. Additionally, another cause is a poor ground connection.
