Exhaust Leak sound on new FRS - low speeds

Hi guys,

The long & the short of it is that I am hearing a really odd noise when softly accelerating from a stop, or sometimes engine braking in first/second at lower rpms. 2015 FRS 6speed MT.

The sound is akin to either a really weird diesel; an exhaust leak; ???

It only happens between 500-1.5kish RPM. Most audible from takeoff or engine braking in aforementioned gears.

Is this just new car owner paranoia? It's been making the noise, AFAIK, since 500 miles and the car currently has 1500 miles on it. Not sure if it's always been making that noise, but I don't recall hearing it during the first week that I was driving it (I drive without radio during any major mod/new car purchase to try and identify if things are running ship-shape or not).

I'll try to upload a video tonight.

Normal, it sounds like a tractor under 1.5k rpm, you're just lugging the engine in that range.

The cabin sound tube makes it stand out even worse. Try plugging that and you will find a big difference.
