License Plate Bracket

My FR-S is originally from Hawaii. Over there they had to have a front license plate. In South Carolina we don't need one, so my car has the bracket on it, and no I can't just take it off and have some small little screw holes in it. These are holes cut out of the bumper that are about an inch in diameter. I really would like to get rid of the stupid bracket if anyone has an ideas. Thanks!!

Something like this (any hardware or building supply store) and some touch up paint. Not perfect but short of a bumper replacement will do.
Had to do on a previous car and it looks OK.
Most people will not even notice it even though you will every time you walk up!
For future reference questions like this are better asked in the Technical sections of the forum.
