Cone strike knocked grill loose; recommended solutions?

This weekend I nailed a cone pretty hard with the right front corner. Later, when I was cleaning the bug splatter off the front, I noticed that the bottom of the grill on that side is now loose, as in completely disconnected from the bumper and flapping around. I tried to snap them back together but they didn't seem to want to stay together. Haven't had a chance to take a closer look yet.

Is this a common problem? Anyone found a good solution to prevent it from happening?

If aligned properly it should pop back into place. You'll have to locate the tabs and make sure they aren't bent.

I thought they should just snap back together but it didn't feel like a positive engagement when I tried. I'll have to take a closer look.

Yeah you won't get the "click" you're looking for. They aren't the sturdiest clips.

dont hit cones :-)

"Conedodger" is a much better callsign than "Conekiller"

I would LOVE to sneak just one of the remote controlled cones into an A-cross someday....

If you don't hit a cone occasionally, you aren't getting close enough. On the other hand, smacking them square like I did means you aren't looking far enough ahead (like I wasn't ).

Well, if you are really pro you'll touch the cones without moving them out of the bounding box!
