Paint chip repair

Hey all, first off not meaning to sound like I'm bashing plastidip or anything because it seems more like Toyota's paint is super fragile or I had a fluke - but I plastidipped my front emblem and when peeling, a roughly .25" square of paint came right off with the plastidip.
Obviously, since my car is a month old, I was legitimately horrified. I know this is clearly just super bad luck, but should I use touch up paint or take it to the dealer for this? It's right down to the metal. Should I remove the plastidip on the emblem before I take it in so there's less evidence? I was just going to blame it on a rock chip since I have the wear & tear insurance, but even if it wasn't a rock chip it's still clearly a defect in the clearcoat.
Any advice would be great! Thanks.

Could've been a rock impact that you couldn't see on the plastidip coating itself, but when pulled off, took paint with it as well. Also, if car is brand new, paint probably hasn't completely cured yet.

If you have coverage for this, just get them to fix it.

Post pics.

Plastidip is rubber so it could very well be that a stone/pebble hit the car and cracked the paint underneath the plastidip but didn't damage the plastidip itself.

In regards to whether or not you should take the plastidip off, probably should take it off. If you don't they could try to pin it on the plastidip and void the warranty/insurance.

I'll post a picture when I get a chance, but to further clarify: the peeling was of overspray right after plastidipping. I peeled the area inside the front emblem and a piece of paint came off. I waited the requisite time before peeling. Maybe a stone hit that area before I plastidipped

That could be the case. Or it could also be that paint now days are super easy to chip

No idea for sure though.
