Question Top Hats Lower the car more?

Is it true the car can drop another 3/4" or so by replacing the top hats? Which top hats specifically can achieve this? I am looking to combo a front drop with the PoweredByMax LCA's that can lower the car 25-40mm

So let me know if I have this right.

If someone were to drop the car on eibach sportlines (-1.4")
then install the 1" Rear Shock Tops (-1") and Raceseng Top hats (-3/4")

You could potentially drop the car 2.15" in the front and 2.4" in the rear? Would that work on stock Shocks?

The rear upper mounts don't lower the car more, they just give you more shock travel. I'm also not sure anyone makes front upper mounts that lower the car either.

Adding travel is great to keep the shock in a better part of the damper curve, but if you're after a lower ride height without coilovers I don't think you're going to find it.

This is the key part.

Why are you trying to lower Sportlines even more? For the cost of these upper mounts you're much better off getting an entry-level coilover setup that will give you the ride height adjustment you want.

This is true. Even if you had a coilover, I am just curious how much lower the car would sit in general when you combine everything together. I am not necessarily planning to add all this stuff to make the sportlines lower I am just wondering what will happen haha.

Also, if someone were to get a coilover system do they NEED or NOT NEED to have top hats and LCA's to complete the job? I assume you can't use stock parts on new aftermarket coils right?

You can on some. The RCE coilovers are designed to use the OEM top mounts. I think the KW's are too.

You only need rear LCAs if you want the ability to adjust camber. Aftemarket LCAs have same mounting design as the OEM LCA, so your coilover can mount to either.

What if I were to get the TEIN STREET BASIS or Bilstein B14 ??

Maybe @Racecomp Engineering can answer you specifically, as I don't have experience with either product. From RCE's site, the Bilstein B14 looks like it could use the OEM top hat though.

Question: how low are you looking to drop your car? You've mentioned the PBM LCAs because they lower the car by themselves. If you're looking to go super low, you might want to look towards BC extreme lows or Stance coilovers instead.

Not extremely low. I don't necessarily want it slammed, but I do like the tucked look as well as the flush look. I imagine a maximum of 2 inches would be more than enough. here is an example of how I like the car to sit, in a sense,

That looks pretty good. I will defer to RCE or @CSG Mike for actual product advice though. You could also check the aggressive wheel fitment thread. Most of them are much more extreme than you're looking to go, but they have a ton of knowledge on how to get there.

B14 are designed to use stock top hats.

Our RCE coilovers can work with stock top hats or camber plates.

To get that look pictured above with Bilstein B14, I'd recommend a lowering rear LCA and lowering top hats (of which there aren't many). Ground Control would be the one that is readily available. Our RCE plates would work but we have supply issues at the moment.
