Side Marker lights won't turn on

So today as I was getting ready to wash my car I noticed one of the side marker was flickering so I tried to open it and tighten it hoping it'll be fixed however it caused both of them to be off now. Did I blow something? I only messed with one side and the other side is out also.

Is it stock, or did you swap it for an aftermarket bulb/piece?

Most likely it's the weather stripping on the side of the markers. If you tear off the black strip s, water and moisture might get in. Especially if you're pointing the hose straight at the markers. I never do that.

Go to Autozone and get an LED amber bulb that's waterproof, it should solve your problems.

It's aftermarket but what would explain the reason the other side went out also? Other side was working fine until I tried to fix the flickering side.

Ok after checking it out my license plate lights are off also. I don't know much about fuses but could it possibly be that I blew a fuse and need to change it?

Check owners manual, fuse locations should be there. I think there are some reserve fuse in the box too.

Found it and looked at it. Seems like my DRL, side markers, night running taillights, and license plate lights are out. Hopefully not all of those are blown and just a few or one that causes the others to go off.

Replaced the blown fuse and the new one blew immediately. Not sure what the issue is.

I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, only messed with the side marker lights and for all I know it wasn't a tight space or anything so I don't see how it could have pinched. There could be something wrong with the LED bulb and I could take it off before trying a new fuse but not sure if that'll do anything.

what i would do is i would remove the bulb you put back in place. replace the fuse. see if it burns. if it does then the bulb probably isnt the cause.

I was thinking this is the only solution, gonna hate going through a bunch of fuses to find the issue though. I'll try this tomorrow.

Your flickering side marker LED is crap and has a short in it, causing the circuit to short. Sides and tails are all on one fuse under the dash. I had this same issue a while ago. The fuse is a 10a one that's located in the 4th slot I think... look at the fuse cover or owner manual to locate the correct one. There's a fuse puller in the fuse box under your hood.

Replace that LED w/ another one before you replace the fuse unless you want to keep blowing fuses.

Buy 50-60 spare fuses on amazon for about $14 instead of paying $1 each at autozone

Thanks I figured if I took the LED off it should work, I'm gonna do it in about an hour. I'll let you know the results. I would buy it from amazon but unfortunately I need it asap and went to oreilys, 5 for $3.

Took the LED light out and it works, the connection was probably weak and caused the short.

If the LED in your sidemarker was flickering, that means it has begun to fail.

The flickering is a sign of heat related damage
