Pump recommendation

Went to the track for the first time with the new tires yesterday and noticed that the valve stems on the new wheels are too short for head on the bicycle pump that I use.

It's a newer pump that supports both Presta and Shrader so it has to push on pretty far before it will depress the pin in the valve stem.

Anyone have a recommendation for a bike pump with an old school screw-on head?

I'd suggest an air tank. Cheaper than a good pump and a whole lot easier. Make sure the tires are close to what they need to be when you arrive at the track, use the tank to make small changes as needed.

can not imagine why someone would want to use a bicycle pump for car tires, but.....

This is the 12-volt pump I've been using for the last couple seasons. Adds about 8 psi per minute. I've been pleased with it so far.

Thanks for the recommendations so far.

I bike pump isn't that bad since I'm usually only adding a couple of PSI on a tire. Usually takes three or four pumps.

Bicycle pumps are great for adding small, controlled amounts of air. When you are doing very small tweaks of air pressure the precision makes it easier to hit your target because there is less temperature change to the air in the tire.
