Mercedes-AMG GT

Goodbye gullwings. Intro'd yesterday, billed as an "affordable" ($120K for the go-fast S model) SLS and is aimed at the 911 market. Almost all aluminum chassis and body and TT V-8 mounted behind the front axle. Sales target of 3,000 (vs. 10,000 911's) seems aggressive given the shrinking base of oligarchs still opting for Italian exotics but I'm thinking this could attract Z06 and GTR buyers, too.

Really interesting TT plumbing. Must have been a challenge managing heat. If it's dry sump, should make for a low CG.

Might as well order a spare chin spoiler with the car.

Yeah, a 928 first came to mind, then a classic Bugatti that sold for $4.5M.

It's the first production hot V V8 engine with a dry sump set up. So yes

Hot V means putting the turbos and manifolds in the valley between the cylinder banks.

I don't know - the SLS has never really done it for me. I like this new AMG-GT quite a bit more.

Not the first production hot V, though, M5 V8 turbo is a hot V.
