2015 FRS/BRZ Exhaust tip question

I was just wondering if anyone can confirm if the 2015 FRS/BRZ exhaust is the same except for the new muffler tip? I would like to pick up a set of the new muffler tips but would just like to confirm if putting them on an earlier model, will they still be recessed as the new 2015s? Has anyone does this mod yet and about how much did you pay for the new muffler tips?

Afaik, the JDM tips are cheaper than the new 2015 tips.

Good to know but I like how recessed the new 2015s are.

IIRC, you can just slide them further in if you want them more recessed? They just have a pinch bolt to hold them to the muffler pipe.

The muffler pipe bends and limits the amount the tip can be recessed.

Anyone have the part number for these 2015 USDM tips?

Same exhaust for sure.

I have tried the JDM Exhaust tips and could not slide them in enough to be as recessed as the 2015 ones. Bump for part number if anyone has!

I tried the opposite the other day. The 2015 tips on my series.blue are further in than I would like. Not sure if I would extend them quite as far as the JDM but I felt as they were they got a little lost in the rear "diffuser."

Unfortunately, it didn't work. There isn't enough pipe to extend the tips out more than a smidge. Ahh well.

I thought the Blue series came with the revamped tips? Is this how it looked when you tested them?

I am trying to achieve this look

Yep, that is how all the 2015s look, including the Series.Blue. I was wanting to extend the tips out a bit farther towards the rear of the car but there isn't enough exhaust pipe for the tip bolt to move very far rearward.

Any USDM 2015 tips should give you the look you posted above. Good luck.

Advance Auto/Pep Boys, insert the name of your local parts store. Almost all of them carry DC Sports tips. They are resonated 3.75" and clamp on to the stock pipe. They stuck out more than I liked at first (and you are limited by how far your can slide them in by the bends on the pipe as mentioned above) but a little trimming and they looks great. They are also cheap at $23 each.

I'll load up a photo after lunch.
