Chrome interior parts
Wanted to see if anyone has had any of the interior parts on their FRS/BRZ chromed.
I've noticed folks painting, wrapping, and replacing with JDM parts, but not chrome yet. Seems many here wouldn't find it appealing, but I really like the chrome handle and think some of the other parts that are currently silver would look good chromed (maybe not the shifter surround, since it's rather large). I stopped by my local sign shop to get some chrome vinyl to try it out as a temporary measure, to see how it would look. They said they didn't carry it though. If I decided it was something I wanted to stick with I'd send the parts to a shop to have them actually chromed. I've had some pieces vacuum metalized before, but I don't think it would hold up as well. I have a friend whose brother does hydro dipping and he said he could do chrome, but I've never seen it in person. So... has anyone tried chrome film on their parts or has anyone had experience with chrome hydro dipping and how does it hold up? |
